Colleen Elizabeth Miller began her life in Naperville, Illinois. At the age of nine she and her family moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where she remained until graduating high school. Her first real acting role was as Witch Hex in the Grimms Brothers version of Snow White and she continued performing throughout high school. Colleen was also seen at the local community theatre Town & Gown, where she played roles such as Ursula in Bye, Bye Birdie and Eugenie in A Flea in Her Ear.
She then moved to Dekalb, Illinois where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting from Northern Illinois University. Colleen also studied acting abroad for a semester at Trinity University and The Gaiety School of Acting, both located in Dublin, Ireland. Some of her college theatre credits include June/Skinhead in Marisol, Dopey in Balm in Gilead, Falstaff in Shakespeare in the Wasteland, and Cheryl Crawford in The Group!
Upon graduating Colleen moved up to Chicago to pursue her acting career. Since then she has studied and performed improv/sketch comedy at The Second City and I.O. (formally know as Improv Olympic.) As well as playing various characters in shows like Justice is Served and Improv Stand-Up. Some of her professional theatre roles include Olive Madison in The Odd Couple: Female Version, Titania/Hypolita in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Ms. Applerose in Scrooge Unglued and a Zombette in the musical Zombies from the Beyond.
Yet, however much she loves theatre and performing for a live audience, Colleen's true passion is film. Colleen's filmography includes the films Are You Rei?, The Borderline, El Perdido (The Lost), One Way, Tea Party, Going To Pieces, At Sunset (also a film with Major Brand Productions), and now a type of dream role in Howling Moon. Listed below are links to some these films' websites and trailers.
Currently Colleen is in rehearsals for the Midwest Premier of the dark comedy Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, where she will be playing Trisha (a.k.a. Peppermint Patty). She also has two other films in pre-production.
If you want to see Colleen now you can catch her traveling the Midwest in the zany comedy Sister Bernie's Bingo Bash as the ex-carnival engineer Sister Cherisse. www.standbyproductions.com. And you can also see her weekly singing and dancing as the overzealous flapper Coco at the 1920's dinner cabaret Tommy Gun's Garage. www.tommygunsgarage.com.
